Over time the intention is to build on the research and intelligence on skills and the labour market within our key sectors and provide trend information to LSIP partners and stakeholders.
Our overarching priorities for change are based on the extensive research, analysis and consultation with businesses and other stakeholders. We used feedback from businesses, partners and wider stakeholders given in interviews, consultation events and surveys to inform the detail set out under each of these priorities.
These priorities led to the development of the Future Skills Sussex Improvement Framework and the themes that sit within it.
1.1 Business support with a focus on recruitment and retention initiatives.
1.2 A workforce development offer that meets local needs.
2.1 Collaborate and consult.
2.2 Tailor to business needs.
3.1 Build a profile of each key sector.
3.2 Raise awareness of each key sector.
4.1 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at the heart of the Sussex LSIP.
5.1 Explore freedoms and flexibilities within existing policy and current skills funding system.
5.2 Test and trial new initiatives.
We have cross-referenced the priorities to the themes, and this can be found in the Future Skills Sussex Improvement Framework here.
